"FIRST TIME WITH DIRECT FERRIES"
I was a bit unsure of what to expect on the overnight ferry from Caen to Portsmouth and was expecting an uncomfortable journey. How wrong I was! The ferry was very modern, fresh and clean and our cabin (for 4 people) was superb and cleverly designed. Shop, café and bar stayed open until after midnight and early breakfast was available at a reasonable price. The crossing was very smooth and we were all rested for our journey hoe to Suffolk. I cannot recommend Direct Ferries enough.

"first time "
Brittany ferries was a very enjoyable experience from the staff to the facilities I couldn't fault it in any way shape or from. The crossing was 5hrs 45mins which seamed a long time but you definitely fill up your time by being able to use onboard WiFi, catching up on sleep which was very much needed and with plenty of places to find to relax. Food was good and was always up to the most highest of standard with the service. I will most definitely be using Brittany ferries again am looking forward to it.

Booking this ferry was the best thing we have done! The boat both to and from Caen was fabulous and clean. Food was great and along with drinks was all sensibly priced. Kids were entertained. No hold ups like Calais are currently experiencing. Dog was perfectly happy in the car and we saved on kennel fees! Will use this company again.

"Trips to/from Caen 17/21 August"
Organised, Calm, efficient. If I could ask for more it would be to be given the choice of recliner section because I was twice in the front compartment with active, noisy (normal) children and parents whilst the side rooms seemed havens of peace. Just a thought.

"The start of the holiday!"
We always use this crossing (1445) and get inexpensive overnight accommodation, just the other side of Caen, before continuing our journey the following day. We always 'make camp' near the cafe/children's entertainment etc and settle-in for the voyage. The on board catering is superb! We usually have our meal in the self-service restaurant - the food is consistently good and very reasonably priced considering the excellent quality. Our children go to the cinema - and we get to enjoy our meal....we do feed them, just seperately to us!! It's a win/win. The staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient - nothing is too much trouble. We see the ferry as the start of our holiday!

My partner and I travelled from Caen to Portsmouth last week, we had a 6 year old with us so we were a little apprehensive about a long ferry journey. We needn't have been, the transition at the terminal in France, the boarding and the disembarkation in England provided no challenge. The staff, food and entertainment were second to none and a surprise for us. So enjoyable was the experience we hardly noticed the time go by. Just the experience one needs after driving through France in the morning and on ward to London later that night. We would recommend the service to others and will certainly be repeating the journey again some time in the future. Many thanks to all the crew.

"classy ferry experience"
We were very surprised how nice this huge ferry was. It was more like a cruise than any ferry we had been on before. This was a fun and relatively inexpensive way to get from France to England. Most people board with cars. There were very few other 'foot' passengers, so we were surprised to see so many people once on board. Be forewarned: the morning ferry actually leaves 15 minutes before the sailing time. We missed it because we weren't able to get our rental car returned in time. They put us on the afternoon ferry and we got there very early, but it actually left about 25 minutes after sailing time. I don't know what is usual, but be sure to be at the terminal and ready to board earlier than the official information says.

"The best of crossings!!!!!"
I realise that Brittany Ferries have the monopoly on Channel crossing-they deserve to! Everything was first class & the special attention we receive-we are both in our 80's is very special… Can't wait for our next trip-just wish it didn't cost as much!
