DFDS Seaways

DFDS Seaways comprise a vast network of ferry routes with crossings to and from the UK, France, Holland, Denmark, Norway and services in the Baltic Sea.

DFDS Seaways has provided passenger ferry services for more than 140 years and now has a fleet of ships considered as one of the largest of any ferry operator.

DFDS Seaways provide great maritime experiences in the form of mini cruise breaks as well as transport services for passengers travelling by vehicle wanting to travel around Europe and Scandinavia.

In addition to the Newcastle Amsterdam, Harwich Esbjerg and Oslo Copenhagen crossings that they’ve operated for many years, DFDS Seaways in recent years has acquired the routes of Norfolkline, LD Lines, Transmanche Ferries and DFDS Lisco. All of these services are now run under the DFDS Seaways brand name.

  • "fantastic childrens services"

On the way we thoroughly enjoyed the whale and dolphin activities with my 6 year old and his parents learnt stuff too. On the way back we enjoyed the childrens club. It was extremely difficult to get off the top bunk though and needed assistance as the ladder was too straight. good staff.

  • "Easy trip!"

We haven't used the Newhaven /Dieppe crossing for years but thought we would have a change and we're glad we did! Quick loading(but we were out of school holidays) left a few minutes late but that time was made up. Great boat with good facilities, comfortable seating and clean. Easy off load on arrival in France. Return leg was as good but let down by very slow off load at Newhaven, sat in our car for almost 1hour to disembark? Would definitely use DFDS again as enjoyed a comfortable crossing!

  • "First time crossers"

First time crossers on this route, we found the lounge immediately and the seats were comfortable. Just don't get up or someone sits in it!! Only had coffee so can't comment about the catering. Loading and unloading was very smooth. Would certainly use again.
