The Côte d'Albâtre is a modern ship offering optimum comfort whatever the sailing conditions with excellent onboard facilities including a panoramic lounge, a bar, a restaurant, a boutique, WiFi, children's play areas and high quality cabins.
There's a choice of 50 cabins, all of which are en-suite. A cot is available upon request at the reception desk.
In terms of seating, there are high quality sleeper seats set over 2 lounges (1 private and 1 in an open area) and recline fully to turn into 2.1m long horizontal beds. The Côte d'Albâtre also has free standard type seats so that you can relax during the crossing.
All tastes are catered for at 'Maupassant' - a pleasant self-service restaurant offering superb value for money as well as a children’s menu and vegetarian options.
Onboard the Côte d'Albâtre there's a range of specially selected alcohols, tobaccos, perfumes, toys, books, cameras and chocolates, as well as gift ideas and daily newspapers.
There's a number of areas set aside especially for children with play-zones, video games and cartoons to keep children of all ages entertained.
There is a cabin that has been specially adapted for passengers with reduced mobility. Unfortunately there is no access to the Open Space (economy) sleeper seat lounge for wheelchair bound passengers.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Côte d'Albâtre guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

"First time crossers"
First time crossers on this route, we found the lounge immediately and the seats were comfortable. Just don't get up or someone sits in it!! Only had coffee so can't comment about the catering. Loading and unloading was very smooth. Would certainly use again.

We had never travelled with DFDS before but were very impressed with the ferries, the service we received and the route. Will definitely recommend to others. Thank you.

Both journeys of our recent crossing were handled efficiently on a well appointed ferry. We experienced some delay on disembarkation on the return trip because a lorry had broken down and other lorry drivers were brilliant inching round it before a vehicle was found to pull it out of the way. The ferry has adequate refreshment facilities and we had a nice meal during both journeys.

Frankly, the booking service was good, the confirmation was good, the ferry was good (on time) and the crossing was good. So excellent!

"Drivers dream "
I've been a guest on the yellow ferry several times. Incredible value for money, a perfect brake from driving, money and stress saved by not driving to Calais and uncrowded stress free border controls. The DFDS staff are usually very polite and professional. I'm pleased to report that his summers crossings were no exception. I look forward to our next channel crossing together. Thank you!

"Cheap and cheerful"
Very easy crossing from Newhaven to Dieppe and back. Not the newest of boats and limited facilities, but did the job of transporting us across the channel. Will definitely be using again.

Travelled from Dieppe to Newhaven with my wife after driving from Portugal over two days, to say I was tired was an understatement. Once on board, I enquired about a cabin, although it was only a 4 hour or so crossing, I was desperate for a good sleep before the onward journey to Scotland. I asked at the reception and a very pleasant member of staff took my name and on the ferry departing, contacted ourselves and a further couple by the speaker system and we were given a cabin at a reasonable cost. The cabin was perfect and had a shower which we were glad of prior to going to our vehicle on arrival at Newhaven. Full marks to DFDS, no hold ups at any stage and a pleasant restful crossing, with no problems that Calais was having. Would certainly recommend DFDS to anyone driving to any part of Europe.

"Ferries are great!!!"
We had never used a ferry before, and were a bit apprehensive, but we needn't of worried, it was great on both journeys. Access, parking, seating, space, food, staff, price, every aspect was great and we enjoyed the rest in a choice of very comfortable seating! The price was also very good. We would certainly not hesitate to use direct ferries again

Yes on both the outward and homeward journey both me and my wife was very happy with each crossing; the staff were warm and friendly; I don't think it could have been improved on.

"Ferry to France"
We enjoyed most aspect of the ferry. It was clean, with plenty of room for passengers to sit. The children's area got noisy at times so if quietness is a requirement, don't sit anywhere near this area.

"August crossing in camper van"
The booking arrangements are clear and simple and in cost terms are good value. On both outward and return legs the ferry left and arrived on time and announcements during the crossing in English and French were appropriate and helpful. Seating was adequate but we did not purchase food. Toilets were clean. The loading and off-loading were very well organised and inspired confidence.
