The 3 'D Class' vessels used on the Dover Dunkirk route - Dover, Delft and Dunkerque Seaways were purposely built for the cross channel stretch and feature a wide range of facilities to ensure you can relax and enjoy your time onboard including a wide selection of restaurants and bars, dedicated play areas for children and great value shopping.
Onboard you’ll find a family friendly self-service restaurant serving good wholesome food at affordable prices, or alternatively there’s the Bistro where you can dine in comfort in a fully licensed seating area with full table service and a first rate menu. Fast Food is on offer at Food Express.
The Lounge bar is a stylish environment and the perfect place to relax and catch up on the latest news and sports via the onboard wide TV screens. The Lounge bar serves refreshing hot and cold drinks, light snacks, wines and spirits. Costa Coffee is now also served within this area. Alternatively, if you’re looking for an ambient atmosphere on board then visit the Bistro Bar on deck 7.
If you enjoy retail therapy then you will find a great deal to please you on board in the retail shop which offers great savings on the latest fragrances, cosmetics and skincare and a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits.

There’s an information desk which is manned throughout your journey (situated on deck 6), a bureau de change and an ATM.

"Smooth crossing to Dunkirk"
Very pleasant crossing with Direct Ferries to Dunkirk recently. Competent, smooth running in every sense, with polite helpful staff at each point. Didn't try the catering facilities, but they looked good. Shop pretty well stocked (only thing missing was Chanel but I didn't want it so badly that I needed to ask!) Slight delay on return journey wasn't the company's fault. Some may have liked a free drink whilst waiting to berth at Dover, but we didn't mind, really. Would recommend to others as an easier stress free alternative to Dover/Calais.

So easy to book online, great customer service at ferry ports, good facilities on board what else is there - will continue to use DFDS whenever possible.

"Journey on DFDS"
My children and I had a very enjoyable trip from Dover to Dunkirk using DFDS. The staff were very efficient and attentive. Excellent system in place for loading and unloading vehicles and the boat was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely use this ferry again.

"Dover to Dunkirk - no problems at all."
Our family trip got off to a fine start with DFDS. No problems at all with our crossings, and everything on the ship was fine and dandy. Reasonable prices all round. Kids happy to explore and plenty for them to do. Very happy!

"Such a joy to sail Newhaven-Dieppe - just as wonderful as remembered!"
Necessity forcing drive to & from UK to Maastricht NL for second time in under 1 week, decided to do this route as opposed to Dover-Dunkirk as per first journey. Wondeful experience from start to finish!. Very nostalgic as many v happy memories of Transmanche Ferries - my sister had holiday home just outside Dieppe for many years, so lots of family trips!. Right from check-in it was like 'coming home' with delightful, friendly staff making a difficult trip an utter joy. Efficient & relaxed boarding with smiling polite staff. Onboard faciliites just as great as remembered & managed to settle down & sleep on both legs of trip - arriving refreshed & ready for long drives each end. Thank you so much for proving that sometimes do stay the same, comforting that excellence continues - will make this my route of choice for all cross-chanel trips, even if it means extra mileage on european side!

"Route into Dunkirk"
The route/signage from the motorway is very misleading, the time taken through customs is slow and frustrating, security is slap hazard, far too few D.F.D.S. signs directing you to the ship, But about the journey excellent both ways. I will use your service again.

Professionally guided towards the parking slot . Parking area was spacious enough for getting out or in the car. Enough space in the ship to wander about or find a seat in the eating areas. Not enough Toilet facilities. Travellers had to queue for longer periods. Still it was a good experience and will travel again.

We used the Directferries crossing from Dover to Dunkirk en route to our holiday in the Netherlands (and avoiding current disruption at Calais). The service was very efficient and punctual, and the onboard accommodation was quite comfortable.
