"Excellent travelling option"
We found the experience excellent. On both legs of the journey; Out folkstone - calais - we had arrived early and as there was space were automatically put on an earlier train; As we travelling at 10.30pm it made a world of difference. The return journey was in the early hours 3.00am. It was safe, the terminal was clean and open! Given the hours - it was safe, managed extremely well and easy to follow instructions.

"Good and fast"
Decided to take the shuttle to make my journey faster, it did match my needs. I arrived slightly before the departure time and they let me take the one before. The train was clean and the staff organised. It was second time I used the shuttle, I will definitely do it again and recommend it also.

We booked last minute from Folkstone to Calais, we boarded swiftly, took no time at all to cross the channel, (compared to a ferry) and when we arrived we we're disembarking in no time. We were lucky, though, as we travelled just before an immigrant got ran down on the tracks. (phew) Well worth the money I paid (I got a £50 return, wooo) If you're driving into Europe, take Le Shuttle.

Easy to make alterations on the 'phone but charged £20 which is steep considering it was only pillion name alteration and they are included in the cost anyway. Able to sometimes get on an earlier train if you arrive earlier than your scheduled one. So much less hassle than with the ferry as simply ride on and off with no strapping down and walking up to decks in crowds and a much quicker crossing obviously. Return on Calais side is easy as simply get off the main autoroute instead of struggling through Calais to the port.

"First time through"
After a very long drive from Norway it was good to be do close to home. The number of kiosks and lane options I found confusing, but that was probably due to being at 3 in the morning and so quiet. Great to be able to cross the channel with my two dogs in the car also, without the worry of leaving them in a kennel. A great way to quickly cross the channel. Not too expensive either.

I have to say the booking on line was very easy, check in for both outward and inward sectors smooth, flexible and operated right on time. All in all very seamless, painless. The way travel should be.

"Traveling from Calais to Folkstone by car and train"
The train did only take 30 minutes. The check in with car license recognition was easy. I did not have to show any document but my passport at passport control. The boarding had been well organized thanks to al the announcements and displays. It is a pity that the train cost twice as much as the ferry. One remark: Upon arriving at Calais, there is a last curve where cars must leave the highway and move into the car lane and trucks must go into the truck lane. There was one truck blocking the lane for the cars at that curve. He clearly stood in the wrong lane. And because the actual lane of the trucks did not move at all, that truck in the wrong lane did not move either. So we, the cars behind that truck and many more were waiting for nothing, Actually, the car lane after that truck was totally free. But we could not see that. We saw that some cars were also moving at the very last moment in to the car lane (just after the truck) and that seemed to work. So we left the car lane again and drove to the end of the curve and we could also move into the car lane again, right after that truck and from there we had free way to the check in. I don't know how many cars have been waiting for nothing or even did miss their check in time due to this situation. But Ithink that eurotunnel can organize/controll this traffic point in a better way.

Journey both ways delayed for about 20minutes due to minor electrical/mechanical problems the equipment is showing its age & subject to constant running repairs but is still the quickest & most efficient way to cross the channel & I will continue using it.

Chose this service due the convenience of the journey time, for a day trip 30 mins into France, The price was incredible for a car and 5 people, your are greeted with number plate recognition at either port, and this therefore checking in is fairly simple, my only complaint being unclear directions to the train, I think this could be worked on better. The train was great, polite staff and efficient boarding and disembarking.
