I went to France for a weekend recently and travelled by ferry P&O. This trip was quick, 1/12 , and sorting out the ferry online was easy. I enjoyed the whole experience and will certainly use them again

  • "Nice way of travelling"

Check in was quick, ferry was on time, it's clean and the staff are nice. The food is too expensive but that applies to all modes of transport with no competition for food! It's cheaper than the train!

  • "Good service."

We travelled in August when there were delays ans 'stacking' on the M20. Our booking was on Weds at noon, arrived early and were immediately offered an earlier ferry without a charge. Loading was efficient and quick and left on time. We were issued with a £20 voucher for food which we used and enjoyed our late breakfast

  • "Excellent"

The ship is all important. I was on the Spirit of Canterbury, where service was great, the ship was clean, quiet and smooth. My previous voyage was not so pleasant, in an older vessel. This is a much more enjoyable experience than the tunnel as you are not confined to your car for the transit. I have always rated P&O as the premium carrier, SNCF and the Belgian line were disgusting. Keep it up, P&O

  • "P & O Service"

Have to compliment on the service for the Dover - Calais route. From registration at the port the service was swift, efficient and well organised. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Boarding and embarking was quick and easy. With all the delays at Eurotunnel the ferry proved to be the best option. Definitely recommend and will use again.

  • "I was absolutely satisfied"

Unfortunately i arrived late 3 hours, as the M20 was crowded and traffic was stopped. I went to the ticket office and they have changed my ticket for the next one departing free of charge. I was very happy with the service and i would choose PO Ferries again at anytime.

  • "A beautiful adventure"

We have been in London several times, always by plane, but now we have a cat that travel with us abroad without problems by car or by plane. Unfortunatly Great Britain doesn't accept animals arriving from abroad by plane. The only way to bring the cat with us was crossing English Channel, so we decided to travel by car from Venice. It was a wonderful experience because it is an excited experience to see the White Cliff from the sea. Very kind the staff of ferry and very accomodating. We had booked ferry at 14.00, but we arrived 40 minutes later, No problem, we could take another ferry at 16.00. When we came back we arrived at Dover 1 hour before, and we could take a ferry before. Recommended.

  • "5/08/2015 12.35. Calais to Dover"

Whole experience was very smooth and very well organised. On our return journey, the Captain apologised for poor tannoy quality. When approaching Dover harbour, we were on an outside deck and did not hear any announcement regarding disembarkation and were late returning to our car ( as were many others ). We thought that the tannoy is vital in any emergency. Otherwise a pleasant experience

  • "My disappointment fo rmy return journey"

I was pleased with my outgoing trip to Calais from Dover however I don't think the restaurant is as good as the 'Old Langans' I realise wooden table top are more economic than white linen tablecloths however it maybe because I am a traditionalist. However I was concerned having, what I thought booked on P& O for my return journey I was told I was booked on a Danish boat. I realise that this could have been my mistake in not reading the papers sent to me by P&O as I thought that I had booked with P&O as they sent me the email with the schedule. I learned a lesson be very careful to read the small print and don;t assume anything

  • "On Time crosssing on a good boat."

The crossing was on time and the boat was quite full, often the Spirit boats take longer to fill and leave late. No problem with anything on board as you would expect with the latest and largest boats. The "Spirit" boats are the standard for today, and the "Pride" boats should be retired.

  • "A good journey on a ferry"

We arrived in Calais earlier than planned and we managed to change ferries and leave 2 hours earlier than originally booked. Changing went smoothly, its cost was reasonable. We had a dog and, unfortunately, she had to be left alone in the car during the journey. The cruising was smooth, the ferry was crowded. The ferry is well equipped with a duty free shop and cafés, restaurants, but it takes a while until you can buy anything because of long lines of people waiting to be served. The passangers were (are always?) crazy. When they were asked not to queue up at the stairs long (20-30 minutes) before disembarkation, they immediately started to form a line in front of the stairs blocking any access to the pathways. Mad! Other than that everything was fine.
